F.E.A.R. 3 delayed until next year
Warner Bros. shooter gets spooked into the new year.
F.E.A.R. 3, the highly anticipated follow up to Warner Bros. 2009 horror-infused shooter, has been delayed until 2011, the company confirmed earlier today.
The game, originally due for fall 2010, is now due for release on March 11 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Warner Bros. did not give a reason for the delay, though its was likely done to put some space in between F.E.A.R. 3 and other big-name launches.
Warner Bros. also announced a series of pre-order bonuses for the North American market. Amazon will offer a 12-page prequel comic book, Best Buy gives players access the pre-order exclusive Shredder weapon and Gamestop unlocks The Hammer, the side arm of the first game's antagonist, Paxton Fettel.
Unlike previous entries in the series, F.E.A.R. 3 is being developed by Day 1 Studios. The franchise's original developers, Monolith Productions, are working on an unannounced project.
