Wii will be resurgent this Christmas says Pachter
It's much more popular as a gift...
Mouthy analyst for Wedbush Morgan, Michael Pachter, has been upbeat about how the Nintendo Wii will fare over the holiday season.
Pachter explained that the surge in Xbox and PS3 sales due to the new models and motion controllers is only temporary and the Wii, being more of a casual machine is much more popular as a Christmas gift.
He began: "The Wii has dropped from first to third, but the new models for Xbox 360 and the launch of PS3 Move had something to do with that, and it's likely only temporary.
Pachter continued: "I think that Mr. Iwata is right when he says that the Wii is more of a holiday purchase, as the core audience has long been satisfied, and the more casual audience comprises the much larger portion of the addressable market."
Nintendo's Red Wii, to commemorate Mario's 25th anniversary will launch on October the 29th in the UK with Britain and Europe getting the first chance to get their hands on the Wii Remote Plus which is bundled with the limited edition red machine.
