Steam community content creators rake in the cash
Community creation store a roaring success
The first round of community created content for Team Fortress 2 on Steam has been a resounding success.
The first five community members to participate in the community content creation have received their first royalty cheques from their creations after the first two weeks on sale.
Rob Laro, Shawn Spetch, Steven Skidmore, Spencer Kern and Shaylyn Hamm have each received a cheque for between 39,000 USD and 47,000 USD in royalties from their initial contributions to Steam's Mann-conomy.
Spencer Kern said: "It's astounding that so many people want to purchase the items that came out of the community," said Spencer Kern, TF2 community content creator. "The response exceeded my wildest expectations. There really is no doubt at this point that there's a huge demand for community-created content in TF2 and, hopefully, more games will start to tap into this demand."
