Rumour: PSP Go price drop coming to U.S. this week
Sony hopes the reduced price will help the portable Go from retail shelves.
The PSP Go, introduced in the West last falls, will be getting a $50 price drop in the United States, if recent rumours hold any credence.
Joystiq posted a picture of a report from an AAFES-based store, which indicates the suggested retail price of the PSP Go will drop from $249.99 to $199.95. The device's cost to retailers will decrease similarly, indicating Sony has streamlined the PSP Go's production.
Sony refused to comment on the situation when Joystiq reached out to the electronics company for a comment.
Sony developed the PSP Go to rejuvenate sales of the handheld, though it has largely failed at that objective. In the United States, the PSP has exhibited consistent month-over-month declines.
