Platinum achieves platform parity with Vanquish
Early reviews confirm Vanquish is pretty much the same on PS3 and Xbox 360.
When Bayonetta hit Japanese retail shelves last October, regional gaming magazine Famitsu was one of the first publications to confirm their were major discrepancies between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the title, awarding the superior 360 version a perfect 40/40 and the PS3 port a 38/40.
The magazine has confirmed, though, that Platinum Games' latest title, Shinji Mikami's third-person shooter Vanquish, is equal across both platforms. In the latest issue of Famitsu, the game received a 37/40 score on both consoles, indicating the Osaka-based studio has perfected cross-platform development.
Eager gamers can get their hands on an early demo of Vanquish on both PSN and XBL. Vanquish is set to launch internationally later this month, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
While Vanquish is the last of Platinum Games' original four-game contract signed with Sega, the studio's head confirmed at Tokyo Game Show that the collaboration had been extended.
