Langdell cedes ownership of trademarks related to "edge" under court order
"Edge" case done and dusted
The man who was branded as a troll by a US court, Tim Langdell has been ordered to give up all claims to any trademarks relating to the word "edge".
After having his lawsuit against EA over the Mirror's Edge name thrown out due to dubious evidence submitted to the court Langdell has been stripped of the any remaining rights he had to the trademark.
California District Judge William Alsup informed the US Patent Office to cancel any trademarks owned by Langdell in relation to "edge" and ordered Edge Games boss to inform all licensees that his power has been dissolved.
Judge Alsup also stated: "There is scant evidence that Edge Games has invested any amount of funds into the development of recent products and services bearing the asserted marks."
Langdell has until noon on Friday to provide a sworn declaration that he has complied with the court's ruling.
