Kid-friendly MMO Free Realms hits Macs this fall
PlayStation version of Sony's popular MMO is still MIA.
Earlier today, Sony Online Entertainment announced it is bringing its family-friendly MMO Free Realms to Mac platforms this fall. Apple product owners will be able to play with the 14 million PC gamers already registered to the game.
"There is no denying the overwhelming player demand for Free Realms on the Mac platform, of which we plan to deliver very soon," said John Smedley, president of SOE. "For the first time ever, SOE is developing synchronous gameplay for Mac and PC players and we are thrilled to tap into TransGaming's Mac development expertise to bring this functionality to fruition."
While the game will be gracing Mac platforms, SOE is still quiet about the PS3 version of the title, which was supposed to launch alongside the PC version.
Perhaps SOE is having trouble coming to grips with the PS3 hardware - another one of their console-bound titles, DC Universe, was delayed until next year.
