SEGA has promised that much less of 4 will be left on the cutting room floor after translation than Yakuza 3.

Key elements of Japanese culture such as Mah-Jong and hostess bars were left out of the Western version of Yakuza 3 in order to speed up localisation according to SEGA.

The popular bar game Mah-Jong along with the hostess bars will return in Yakuza 4 helping the game retain the authentic feel that has made the series so popular in the West.SEGA's Aaron Webber said that all of the game's side quests will "will pretty much be in there" adding that any cuts would be "nothing like Yakuza 3."
