Tim Langdell's long court battle with over who owns the rights to use Edge as a trademark is finally over.

A court in California has found in favour of EA stating that Langdell's business opportunities may not legitimately extend beyond trolling various gaming-related industries for licensing opportunities.

The court also cast a question over Langdell's representations to the Patent Office and the Court calling them suspect finding that he had submitted falsified game boxes along with a faked cover of Edge Magazine.

Judge Alsup stated that due to the amount of suspect submissions Langdell may be liable for criminal charges adding: "The record contains numerous items of evidence that plaintiff wilfully committed fraud against the USPTO in obtaining and/or maintaining registrations for many of the asserted "EDGE" marks, possibly warranting criminal penalties if the misrepresentations prove true."
