Suda: HD visuals push Grasshopper's games 'one rank higher'

Goichi Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture is probably best-known this generation for the studio's No More Heroes franchise, which debuted exclusively on the Wii.
However, Shadows of the Damned - Suda's latest game, which has the luminary Japanese designer paired up with Resident Evil 4 creative genius Shinji Mikami and American mega-publisher Electronic Arts - will be available only on the high-definition platforms. Speaking with Edge Online, Suda admitted this is because he believes the superior visual fidelity will enable him to enhance both his studio's reputation and the game's overall quality.
"With No More Heroes we were able to shape a certain image for our studio. With Shadows of the Damned, we are about to go one rank higher," he responded when asked if graphics played apart in his decision to shift away from the Wii. "I think it is going to not only strengthen our brand image, but also give a cooler sense of our actions and the worlds we create.
Shadows of the Damned is set to hit retail in 2011, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
