EA: DICE is a 'gift from the development gods'
The Swedish dev enabled the EA to build the 'best-possible experience'
On paper at least, Electronic Arts' upcoming Medal of Honor reboot seems like a gamer's dream come true - a single-player mode from a EA's Los Angeles branch - a studio with nearly bottomless pockets - and a multi-player component from Digital Illusions CE - the team that practically reinvented the multiplayer shooter.
Even Medal of Honor executive Greg Goodrich is amazed EA was able to pull together such a resourceful team. Speaking to Eurogamer, he said that DICE's involvement with the game has greatly enhanced the overall product, calling the Swedish dev house a "gift from the development gods."
"A decision was made to put two teams, each concentrating on what they do best, to deliver the best-possible experience for the gamer," Goodrich explained. "It was a gift from the development gods who gave us DICE to build our multiplayer.
DICE delivered earlier this year with the critically acclaimed Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The title sold several million copies globally and achieved an 88-point ranking on review aggregate MetaCritic.
