Capcom want to get their big guns firing more often and this includes getting 6 out fast.

Kenji Inafune, Capcom's global head of production told Spanish site 3DJuegos (translated via NeoGAF) that they will be trying to get Resi 6 out as quickly as possible.

Inafune-san said: "Given the great success which led to us Resident Evil 5, we want Resident Evil 6 to hit the market as soon as possible. In fact, will have news about this soon..."

With us almost on the doorstep of this year's Tokyo Games Show (it begins on September 16th) this would seem like the perfect time to announce a new Resident Evil title.
