Processor giant AMD has announced that they will be ditching the ATi graphics branding later this year.

The ATi branding is being decommissioned with the next generation of Radeon cards bearing the AMD logo.

The Radeon and FirePro ranges will remain for now under the new AMD ownership.

AMD explained the change as part of a strategic move towards a more customer-centric approach adding that research showed that AMD was a stronger brand than ATi.
