Index Holdings, the parent company of Atlus, has announced that the Japanese specialist publisher and developer will cease to be a company in its own right.

The brand will remain but all of the company's operations will now come under the direct control of Index.

Index's plan seems to be to focus on the titles in the portfolio that are making money and the dissolution of Atlus as a company is part of the plan.

Most recent announcements like the mobile phone social game based on Persona 3 and the new and title Catherine will not be affected by the changes.

Thanks 1UP.
