Square Enix's critically acclaimed but commercially inert series Parasite Eve could make a return on the PS3.

Yoshinori Kitase, executive producer for 3rd Birthday, the spin-off of Parasite Eve told VideoGamer that the series could return if the PSP game was a hit.

Kitase-san said: "The team had a lot of experience and knew a lot about making a game for PSP which is why we chose PSP as the platform for this game. But if this game turns out to be a success then we'd be looking at extending the franchise into PS3."

3rd Birthday should be arriving for PSP just in time for Christmas.
