EA CFO Warren Jenson was in attendance at the Bear Stearns Conference, where in a speech on mature games content he let slip that are currently working on a videogaming version of The Godfather.

EA's interest in developing such a title was no doubt encouraged by their interest in big-name licences, and the success of gangland crime extravaganzas such as and of course Grand Theft Auto. No further details on the title were revealed by Jenson, however a possible M-rating (ages 17 plus) was confirmed, and the Financial Officer also dismissed any suggestion EA would indulge in a spot of the old ultra-violence a la with any future products.

Hopefully we will have some further details on EA's Godfather exploits as E3 approaches and it will certainly be interesting to see just how much Francis Ford Coppola's seminal film has influenced the proceedings. Fingers-crossed for a worthy gaming interpretation, then.
