The latest figures from the Gaming alliance the PC had the highest figures of 2009.

The report shows that gaming-ready PC hardware shipped twice as many units as the Wii, PS2, and combined.

The report also showed that PC hardware with a discrete GPU (that excludes any desktop, netbook or laptop with an integrated graphics chipset) totalled around 54.6 billion USD.

The PC Gaming Alliance's Matt Ployhar: "One of the biggest trends I'm seeing in the 2009 Horizon's hardware report indicates a strong demand for more capable mobile based systems by PC Gamers. PC Gamers are playing a central role in fueling healthier margins, and driving innovation in this space worldwide."
