Despite claims in the community about failures resulting from the latest firmware, insists that software isn't breaking consoles.

PlayStation 3 v3.41 has purported caused major hardware problems, but a statement from Sony clearly debunks the notion. Instead, hard drive problems are the result of some other error unrelated to the firmware according to a report by CVG.

"The information available to our Consumer Services Department does not suggest that this is a problem PlayStation owners are likely to experience when upgrading the HDD with 3.41 update."

While firmware has previously been the culprit of major hardware problems, Sony has exonerated it here.
