Bethesda: Wii doesn't fit with us
Wii just not powerful enough for Bethesda's RPGs
Bethesda Game Studios executive producer Todd Howard has been explaining their reasons behind their neglecting Nintendo's platforms.
Howard told IndustryGamers that Nintendo's platforms just aren't suitable for they kind of titles that they are developing at Bethesda.
Howard said on the Nintendo question: "The stuff we're doing is a better fit on the other platforms. You can never say never, but I think for the kind of games that we like to play and make, it fits the other platforms."
Although the Wii's lack of visual prowess is a major factor in their decision the Wii's casual demographic also plays a part discouraging Bethesda from developing on the console.
Howard added: "Even if there's going to be some bigger, more mature games on it, the system, for better or worse, has been moved to this demographic. If we had an idea that we thought would really take advantage of that platform, we would do something for it. Usually, we're thinking more in terms of graphically doing things that the other systems do. That's what we get excited about."
