Capcom to release more big titles
Maximo profits
Japanese publisher Capcom hopes to shorten the development for major titles and thus increase the rate at which triple-A are released.
Andriasang reiterates a point made in Nikkei on Capcom's desire to increase the number of high profile games it releases in a given year.
Currently, the company takes on average four years to develop a major title such as Resident Evil 5. By outsourcing development in part or full to Western studios, Capcom hopes to reduce that cycle to two or three years.
The initiative comes at a time when Capcom is experiencing a drop in profits and lower-than expected sales.
