PS3 Netflix to lose the disc soon

Major updates headed to the PS3

Up until now PS3 Netflix users have had to use a Netflix disc every time they wante to use the service.

This put the PS3 at a slight disadvantage as Xbox 360 Netflix users just needed a small local download in order to use the service.

Netflix has announced that this is about to change as they are about to integrate Netflix into the XMB interface of the PS3 before the end of this fall.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said: "Before our next call in October, we expect to be launching a major new version of our Sony PS3 user interface which doesn't require a disc and is dynamically updated continuously with the latest Netflix UI improvements."
