American McGee is hard at work on a sequel to dark adventure Alice, but this time it's coming to consoles alongside PC.

Alice: Madness Returns will continue the twisted story of Alice after she's released from a mental asylum. Haunted by hallucinations, she ventures back to Wonderland in search of a mental remedy.

Details are scant, but McGee promises plenty of adventure and a bit of thrown into the mix. Just how action elements can be deployed might be a point of concern, but given the high standards of quality for the original it should work out just fine.

Alice: Madness Returns will be available for PlayStation 3, 360, and in 2011.
