Activision is using lofty analogies to describe its admittedly mammoth franchise, which walks the fine line of arrogance.

IGN spoke with Publisher CEO Eric Hirshberg about the future of the company's biggest franchises including Call of Duty.

"The Call of Duty franchise is a force of nature. I think it is the closest thing this generation has to a Star Wars. I think it's unique and bigger than any musical act or any franchise in that capacity."

While Activision certainly has reason to trumpet the power of its franchise, it's unbecoming to gloat. Pride cometh before the fall.
