A group of six gamers from the Netherlands has broken the world record for continuous gameplay, clocking in a staggering 50-hour run.

VideoGamesBlogger writes about the Twistdock Endurance Gaming Event in which the six-man Dutch team managed to play for 50 continuous hours.

The previous record-holder was Indian Chirantan Patnaik who was able to play for 40 hours and some change. That's a more than 9-hour spread.

For giving up their weekend in pursuit of gaming glory, each member of the team walked away with 1.000. At least the Dutch won something this month.
