Study: games help reduce stress
Thank you, Dr. Obvious
A university study states the obvious: playing video games can help alleviate stress, particularly after experiencing frustration.
Dr. Christopher J. Ferguson of Texas A&M International University announced research findings that demonstrate the calming effects of games.
"Young adultsmale and femalewho play violent video games long-term handle stress better than non-playing adults and become less depressed and less hostile following a stressful task," a release from the professor's office explains.
Dr. Ferguson goes one step further to state, "The results do not support a link between violent video games and aggressive behavior." Guess that's settled. Now about this ninja versus pirates thing...
