Poor sales of psychological thriller Alan Wake calls prospective instalments into question despite the developer's insistence that the game has a bright future.
VG247 spoke with Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise management at developer Remedy about the prognosis for Alan Wake given the surprisingly low 145,000 copies sold in the US.
"Overall we have been very pleased with the reception of Alan Wake with both the press and the fans alike...There has been a growing interest in the title and it certainly seems to have legs to sustain."
Talk of a sequel has rapidly died down and with downloadable content supposedly being on the cutting block. Without a boost in sales, it's difficult to see how Alan Wake has a future.
