Ubisoft has revealed that the next full instalment in the saga will leave Ezio and medieval Italy behind.

Ubisoft's Jean-Francois Boivin told Gamerzines recently that the next proper Assassin's Creed title will feature a diferent setting and hero from the previous titles.

Boivin said: "Assassin's Creed 3: new setting, new hero. That's the way it works. We know what we're doing; we've had a plan for a long time where this license is going to go."

Not bad for the series that started its life as a new game. In the meantime Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will launch in the on the 19th of NOvember on and 360.
