Codemasters using real data to re-create cars and tracks in F1 2010
Authentic F1 experience is the goal
Codemasters has unveiled their method of recreating the tracks and cars in their first HD stab at the Formula One racing franchise.
In the latest development diary they show how they have painstakingly created the cars and tracks using real-world datd from CAD and extensive reference photography.
In addition to the vast quantites of data they have also enlisted the help of former F1 driver Anthony Davidson to ensure that the tracks and cars feel like the do in real life.
Davidson explains: Driving the real world circuits enables me to give that impression to the guys creating the game. Theres all these details that only a driver would know about. For instance, turn eight in Spa; I know straight away any car I have ever driven there always understeers and its knowing that kind of detail as a driver that you can get over into the game. The circuits feel really spot on.
F1 2010 will be out on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this coming September.
