It has emerged from that is not done making games just yet.

Kojima recently announced that he had handed over production of Metal Gear Solid: Rising to Shigenobu Matsuyama. Konami is adamant that the series creator will continue to make MGS titles for the forseeable future.

Matsuyama-san clarified this and also explained the position of MGS: Rising within the canon of Metal Gear.

He said: "I've been asked a lot, 'Is this going to be a side-story or spin-off to the MGS series?', but what I'm positioning is that there will be a Hideo Kojima game that is MGS, but what we are planning as is have this Raiden Rising as almost as a standard so that there's an MGS and the Rising going back-and-forth in the future."
