Quake on a GBA! Whatever will they think of next...
The WFR engine (AGB’s proprietary Gameboy Advance / PDA and PC cross-platform 3D first / third - person game engine) can now, it is claimed, represent polygons rendered with full perspective correction at real time frame rates. Wow! Good news for the hand-held gamer because AGB now promise they can represent many other types of environments that could not be done before such as racing games like Wipeout, and more complex first-person shooters such as Duke Nukem 3D and maybe even Quake. Indeed, AGB have already created a simple Quake-style level, and they have the following to say:

”We are getting a good 15 - 60 frames per second with the Quake level and are confident that with a few code and geometry optimisations we can get a better frame rate.”
We were so excited about this interesting prospect that we’ve scheduled an interview with AGB to discuss their technology further. More on this as we get it, then.
