CEO of Cohort Studios, Lol Scragg, says that the developer are doing their utmost to make sure that Sony's motion controller is not a novelty.

Speaking to us at Game in Scotland, Scragg explained that the problem with the was that many of its titles were not designed around the system, instead using it as a gimmick.

Scragg said: "I think that's a problem that the Wii has. A lot of people used the motion controller as a gimmick. There wasn't really a core mechanic and they probably could have made the games using a traditional gamepad."

He insisted that Cohort were determined avoid making this mistake with The Shoot, their launch title for Move.

He added: "One thing that weve tried to do with The Shoot is make sure that it takes full advantage of the and the control method that we have available so were not using it as a gimmick. You wouldn't be able to play our game without the PlayStation Move."

The Shoot debuts along with PlayStation Move, which could hit as early as July if the rumours are true. is yet to confirm the launch date yet, mind.
