UK publication exaggerates development costs associated with Rockstar's sequel, claiming a whopping 100 million USD was spent on the game.
The Daily Mail's hyperbole would make Red Dead Redemption the most expensive video game ever made, equalling the budget for Grand Theft Auto IV.
Clearly, the figure sported in the article is incorrect. In its failure to adequately check its figures, the publication is essentially saying that Rockstar put Red Dead Redemption in line with sales expectations for Grand Theft Auto IV.
That's an incredulous claim considering that the GTA franchise is much bigger than Red Dead. Whatever Rockstar spent developing Red Dead Redemption looks to have paid off, nonetheless.
