PSPgo a disaster down under
Not a g'day, mate
If you thought PSPgo bombed in the US and Europe, get a load of Sony's trouble selling the all-digital handheld in Australia where it is nothing short of a complete failure.
GameSpot reveals that the newest PSP handheld hasn't even sold 25,000 units since its debut last October. That's not 25,000 in a single month, but less than 25,000 over a period of six months.
Sony executive Michael Ephraim claims that these troubling numbers are a result of a highly competitive handheld market. "The handheld space is very crowded," he told GameSpot.
In other words, PSPgo hasn't sold because competing handhelds are more attractive to consumers. Expect Sony to announce changes to its PSP strategy next month during E3.
