PS4 link app arriving with the next PS Vita firmware update
The app that will allow players to interface with their PS4 using their PS Vita is due to arrive with the next PS Vita Firmware update.
The new PS4 Link App will allow the Vita to exchange data like downloads and save backups as well as trigger remote downloads and message friends over PSN.
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida announced the news on Twitter in response to a fan question saying, “We'll add "PS4 Link" app to PS Vita with the next update.”
The new app is also scheduled to be released for tablets and smartphones and will offer similar functionality allowing PS4 owners to trigger downloads that their friends have been talking about on the move so that they can start playing straight away when they arrive back home.
The PS4 PlayStation App will also allow smartphones and tablets to be used as a second screen for the PS4 as well.
