Sony have announced some extended warranty policies for and owners in the US.

The policies are for new consoles still in their first year. That means that owners of PSP-2000s, 1000s and most of the fat PS3s will not be eligible for the schemes.

The PS3 policies extend the warranties by 1 year and 2 years for 49.99 USD and 59.99 USD respectively.

For the PSP there's a choice of with accident cover or without and 1 and 2 year extended warranties. The prices are 29.99 USD and 39.99 USD without accident cover and 39.99 USD and 49.99 USD with, again respective of time.
