Square step up pushing Western games in Japan
Square Enix have founded a publishing house specifically to deal with bringing edgy Western games to the Japanese market.
The new games label is to be called Extreme Edges and hopes to get Japanese gamers more excited about Western games with bite.
Square already handle the Call of Duty series in Japan as well as properties like Just Cause 2, Hitman and Kane and Lynch, all of which were acquired in the Eidos buyout.
As well as using the label to publish Eidos' mature portfolio Square Enix hopes to be able to capitalise on their experience and attract other big Western titles to Extreme Edges.
