Blizzard "not trying to be innovative"
Same ol', same ol'
StarCraft II designer Dustin Browder admits that Blizzard isn't trying to be innovative with the development of its much anticipated real-time strategy sequel.
Gamasutra spoke with Browder who insisted that there is no need to change the core gameplay for the sake of change, particularly when considering how popular the original game has been.
We're not trying to change for change's sake. We're just trying to make quality, and we definitely felt there were some things in the previous game that were high quality, that we weren't super confident we could do much better."
I'm sure the nation of South Korea is fine with StarCraft II remaining much like the first game. It will make scheduling those massive public tournaments so much easier.
