Ubi DRM falls to the hackers?
PC protection reportedly cracked
Rumours abound this week that hackers may have blown Ubisoft's controversial DRM technology wide open.
According to CNET hackers have beaten the PC DRM, designed to prevent pirates copying and sharing their releases on the format.
"Thank you Ubisoft, this was quiete [sic] a challenge for us," reads a message from the hackers, 'Skid Row', "but nothing stops the leading force from doing what we do."
The hackers add: "Next time focus on the game and not on the DRM. It was probably horrible for all legit users. We just make their lifes [sic] easier."
Ubisoft regard the DRM as vital, especially on the PC where the firm's titles are frequently available on Torrent networks just hours after launch.
