Ubisoft ditches PS3, Xbox manuals
Lean and green
In an effort to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship, Ubisoft has decided to forgo the printing of paper game instructional booklets inside copies of its PS3 and Xbox 360 games.
Manuals for PS3 and Xbox 360 games moving forward will be provided digitally on the game disc. Wii, DS, and PSP games are not effected by the change; however, PC games have already made the switch.
Along with the elimination of paper manuals, Ubisoft is also switching the type of packaging used for cases. New recycled polypropylene cases will be introduced starting April 27 with the PC release of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction.
It's a small measure, but one to applaud nonetheless.
