A trademark filed by massively gaming company points to a potential sequel for once-popular superhero game City of Heroes.

SuperAnnuation uncovered the trademark, which was filed on the first of April. NCsoft has not made any announcements regarding a sequel, but the trademark is telling.

While it could be a move to prevent another company from nabbing the name, it's more likely to be the first steps in revealing a full follow up to the 2005 blockbuster.

In fact, NCsoft announced some time ago that it was working with to develop a PS3-exclusive online role-playing game. The timing of this trademark could mean 2 is destined for a launch. Look forward to definitive news in June during E3.
