Switzerland to ban violent games
The Swiss have moved away from their traditional neutral position by taking steps to ban violent videogames.
The Swiss National Council has voted to pass a motion that bans any game that "requires cruel acts of violence against humans and human-like creatures for in-game success."
The government has yet to decide what constitutes "cruel acts of violence" but now that they have decided that violent games are not desirable eyes will be on their next move.
Possible ideas for how to enforce the law include making the PEGI 16+ and 18+ ratings legally enforceable and even an outright ban on selling violent or adult-themed videogames.
