Resident Evil creator opens studio
Under a new umbrella
Famed developer Shinji Mikami, known for creating blockbuster series Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, has opened a new development studio in the Japanese capital Tokyo.
1UP has translated parts of an interview with Mikami in the latest edition of Famitsu in which he details his decision to start the new development house named Tango.
"One of the reasons I'm building a company is to raise the game makers of the future, people who haven't gone pro yet."
While Mikami says the company's first project has yet to be decided, he asserts his desire to craft a 3D survival-horror game. "When it comes to my personal desires, I'd like to make a true-3D horror game, something where you'd use glasses like in the Avatar film."
Mikami expects their first title to be released in three years time.
