Codemasters rallying behind DiRT 3
Turning over sequel
A third game in Codemasters's spunky rally racing series has been nonchalantly confirmed by vice president Gavin Cheshire, settling speculation on what seemed an obvious move to build on the well-regarded franchise.
Edge got the scoop during an interview with Cheshire, who slipped in a mention of DiRT 3 in the midst of discussing Codemasters's general role in the UK gaming industry.
"Theres some great stuff coming from Birmingham thats going into DiRT 3."
Confirmations certainly don't get any clearer than that. Cheshire didn't provide any specific details about the game, although he did assert the development team's desire to move the series in a different direction with "something fresh and new." Codemasters will likely formally unveil the game in June during E3.
