A study published in the Psychological Bulletin, the journal of the American Psychological Association, claims to have shown conclusive evidence that links violent games to violent thoughts and actions.

Psychologist Craig Anderson has analysed the data from numerous studies in Europe, the and covering 130,000 subjects and says he has found a real link between behaviour and violent games.

Joystiq has managed to find some alternative research that contradicts Anderson's findings.

The research of Dr. Cheryl K. Olson and Dr. Lawrence Kutner as published in Grand Theft Childhood states: "the strong link between video game and real world violence, and the conclusion that video games lead to social isolation and poor interpersonal skills, are drawn from bad or irrelevant research, muddleheaded thinking and unfounded, simplistic news reports."
