EA bags Burnout 3: It's official
Criterion's latest grabbed by EA
The announcement that was widely rumoured a couple of weeks ago has been officially made today, confirming Criterion's Burnout 3 racer as the latest title to enter the ever-expanding EA fold. The game will be released worldwide in September this year for the Xbox and PS2.
Burnout 3 promises over-the-top action unique to the otherwise stale racing genre, and will include a brand new graphics engine, and a unique 'crash and burn' racing concept, whatever than means. Traffic will be a problem to contend with like never before, as Criterion bring city streets to vivid life, and several single, multiplayer and online (for the PS2 only) game modes will feature.
"Working closely with EA's European Studio on the development of Burnout 3 is exciting for Criterion and the Burnout series. We are thrilled that the game will benefit from EA's development and publishing expertise that ensures a worldwide audience will be able to enjoy this phenomenal game," enthused the developer's Fiona Sperry. "We are confident that through this partnership, this fantastic game will be made even better."
