Metroid: Other M is pegged for release on June 27 as part of a heavy-hitting summer line up announced by Nintendo's division.

Helmed by developer Team Ninja, Metroid: Other M offers a new interpretation of the franchise that differs dramatically from the first-person Prime series. 2D side-scrolling stages are mixed with an option to switch to at will.

Uncovering bounty hunter Samus Aran's past is done by holding a single Remote sideways - no nunchuk attachment is used during play. When switching to 3D, you point the remote at the screen and fire at enemies from the first-person.

A release hasn't been announced, though is expected to reveal it later this week.
