DSi XL pairs larger size with price
Nintendo will release the larger DSi XL in the US at the end of March at a significantly higher price than the regular-sized Nintendo DSi, prompting the question if paying extra for larger screens is worth the upgrade.
On March 28 the revised, much larger handheld goes on sale in the US, just days ahead of release in the UK. It comes with a larger price tag too--189.99 USD. That's $20 more than the basic DSi which currently sells for 169.99 USD.
Some free software comes bundled with the handheld, though it's nothing exciting enough to justify the added cost: Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math and Photo Clock, and Flipnote Studio.
With DS sales still strong, the higher DSi XL price could soften the momentum in the months ahead.
