Rocksteady, the developer behind last year's surprise hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, has been acquired by Bros. and will continue working on a proper sequel for its new parent company.

Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 remains unaffected by the sale of Rocksteady; in fact, the game is precisely the reason why pursued the purchase. The first game sold an impressive 3 million copies and Warner hopes to top that with the sequel.

Game designer Sefton Hill hinted at the possibility of working on other noted Warner Bros. franchises. "The Rocksteady team is very much looking forward to creating more great games based on widely recognised Warner Bros. brands like Batman."

For the time being, though, expect a follow-up soon.
