Ubisoft is eyeing its biggest franchises for annual instalments as part of a new strategy, the first of which will be starting later this year.

Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, European managing director Alain Corre laid out the company's new initiative to release games in established franchises every 12-18 months.

Corre made specific reference to Activision's mammoth series as an example of how to release annual instalments that are compelling to consumers and don't sacrifice quality.

"They never compromise on quality, which is exactly what we're trying to do with our brands now."

While Corre's claim that Call of Duty never sacrifices quality is debatable, there's no question that Assassin's Creed has thus far been exemplary. Hopefully the upcoming game will continue that trend.
