Crysis 2 creates a vertical Manhattan

Crytek have been dishing the dirt on their follow-up to the processor-hungry Crysis.
Crysis 2 will be set on Manhattan Island and will offer as large a playing area as the original.
The game's executive producer, Nathan Camarillo, compared Crysis 2 to movies like The Day After Tomorrow and I am Legend in creating a unique vision of New York City's most iconic locations in a recent interview with Edge.
Camarillo said: "I Am Legend and The Day After Tomorrow were unique and both 'owned' a version of New York. Ours, likewise, is in harmony with the Nanosuit. In Crysis, we changed that island in ways the player didn't expect. Expect bigger here. It'll be a New York City like none in games or cinema."
Camarillo followed up by saying that they have taken a similar approach to the first game in designing the environments and are creating a more vertical experience spanning 'three storeys up and down.'
"You're not interested in the 55th floor of each building," continued Camarillo. "But we want you to feel you're surrounded. You have this freedom to explore these small pockets and go really deep on details, but seeing all of New York isn't necessarily that exciting, and it's not great for pacing or telling the kind of story we want. It's a constrained freedom."
